The Scrub Island Environmental Monitoring Committee's first meeting took place in mid-July 2006.  Since then, several meetings have taken place, both on site and at Town & Country Planning offices. 

On July 1, 2007, at the insistence of the BVI Government, Mainsail upgraded its environmental management by engaging the services of Bioimpact, Inc., a USVI company.  Biompact's president, Amy Claire Dempsey, visits the site weekly and reports on water quality, construction practices, etc.  Since Bioimpact has become involved, the Environmental Monitoring Committee has noticed an improvement in mitigation efforts on the project.
